jfControl - Allround Remote Control App Reviews

Great app but could use some more layouts of ability to download more layouts. It needs to be able to shut down computer and control other apps on my computer.

Does not integrate with eyetv. thats the one HUGE drawback for me. Otherwise it does a fine job, with a sleek interface.

Finally a remote app that works. I use it for front row on my mac mini. It uses bonjour and worked the first time I tried it. No tinkering with it until it worked. It sets it self up. Done. Im connecting with a computer to iPhone ad hoc wifi connection.

I use this remote daily to control EyeTV and I love it. Could use a few more features to male of worth the purchase price (such as play/pause button and if it is possible to get the EyeTV guide on the iPhone screen that would be putstanding) but other than that I am more than happy with this App.

This is a great all-in-one app for a remote control. I got this to run my EyeTV and found it to be a bonus to run my iTunes/DVD and Finder. Its saved the day. I have run into one little glitch with one function and the developer Tommy Karmmerer has been on the case! Hes completely involved in making this app great and I appreciate it. I highly recommend it!

This app does exactly what it was made to do, For the review that said you have to guess at what the buttons do obviously doesnt know what the little "i" symbol does. Hit that and it shows you exactly what each button does. I thought this was for only front row but its for dvd, itunes, finder and much more. And it works instantly with no hasel. I dont know if I got the app after a update or what but this app is a must have for your macbook/pro. This is the first app ive bothered wasting my time to add a review as well so that should tell you I really like this app.

Overall I am satisfied with this app, but I have one MAJOR issue. As far as I can tell there is no way to pause eyetv. For me, pausing is the most important task this app should be able to do to eyetv. I have no idea why a simple pause feature was not included. Please help me understand this!

Doesnt do much more than the little Apple remote that came with your computer. Wi-Fi connection is slow and inconsistent. To be truly useful, jfControl would have to free the user from the computer—e.g., the way the app "Remote" does—by listing songs, playlists, videos, Keynote presentations, etc., from which to choose. If it cost $1, Id have given it two stars.

When i got this application I had doubts..... a $3.99 is not cheap for me. So far however I have been relatively impressed. Although it does not do that much more than other free apps I would really like to see a few improvements and I think it would be one of the best apps out there... In a free update I would love to see: - Control of Firefox and/or Safari - Control of Applications such as Skype, iChat, iCal etc. If those are added I will be much happier.

Waste of $4! Crashes and makes DVD freeze. Dont bother!!

I use this app every day. Wonderful for eyeTV and FromtRow. I use an external monitor and my IR port is covered making it impossible to use the apple remote... This little app is awesome. The only thing I wish it had was a channel swsp buttonfor eyeTV to quickly jump back and forth between channels. Other than that I have no complaints. Well worth the $3.99 in my opnion.

So far I think this is one of the best apps in the app store. I also appreciate the continual improvements. Great job.

I needed a remote for Tele-prompter software ZaPrompt for my Apple Laptop - TODAY. One remote option is to purchase an $80.00 Keyspan Presentation Remote a PR-US2 if you can find it. In less time to go to a local store IF an $80 remote were in stock, I was up and running with this app! I downloaded the full version jfControl Remote and under Layout #5 I was able to Pause, Resume and change the scrolling speed of my prompter software! A PR-US2 layout setting would be cool, but upon download and install of software required for the laptop it worked great the first time! A few dollars vs. $80.00 for a remote was a no brainer. And the other remote features are very powerful - icing on the cake. At least double the price on this app, you deserve it! Signed- A Very Happy Producer

I havent run into any issues. it is very easy to use and with the autoconfig you just start the program and your good to go....Control finder...open programs....also good for a good scare when other are using your laptop

Any chance to add boxee remote capabilities? That would be cool!

I have tried other I Phone computer control apps. But this is the best one so far, its easy to use, easy to set up, and its so much fun. It is very universal. Than you for this great app.

Hard to stay conected when start the app

The different layouts for different remotes are great. Its missing a few features on EyeTV but I expect them to come very soon. Nice to have one remote instead of an app for each remote.
